Fries verzetsmuseum

The Frisian Resistance Museum opened its doors on 13 September 2013 in an impressive new building in the center of Leeuwarden. The museum is again part of the Fries Museum.

The collection consists of approximately 45,000 objects, documents, books, magazines, photos and film that provide an impressive picture of the Second World War in Friesland. This collection describes daily life during the occupation, collaboration, resistance and persecution and the liberation in Friesland during the Second World War.

Opening hours

Tuesday to Sunday 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. Closed on Mondays.

  • Toddlers 0-3 years free
  • Children 4-17 years old/students: € 5,-
  • Family (max 2 adults, max 3 children up to and including 17 years old): €25
